I've written the beginning of chapter one now around a half-dozen times. I'll write a few sentences or paragraphs (even got a page once), then read over it and File 13 it.
On the advice of a very wise and intelligent friend, I've decided to start a few pages in to chapter one instead. I have the hook I want, including the character the protagonist meets which starts the whole thing off.
I'm excited. Weeeee!
